The ongoing 2024 Weifang Kite Carnival and the 41st Weifang International Kite Festival kicked off and attracted enthusiasts throughout the world with the impressive view of kites of all shapes, sizes and colors. 　　潍坊被誉为中国的“风筝之都”，有着悠久的风筝制造与放飞历史及丰富的文化遗产。风筝制作的源头可以追溯到鲁国大思想家墨翟制作的第一只“木鸢”，距今已有两千多年的历史。

　　Known as China's "kite capital," Weifang has a long history of manufacturing and flying kites and is endowed with a rich cultural heritage. Kite-making here can be traced back to the first "wooden kite" made by Mo Di, a great thinker in the State of Lu over two thousand years ago.

　　据统计，潍坊全市共有风筝产业市场主体700余家，从业人员8万余人。以风筝扎制为主业，推动上下游风筝轮、风筝骨架、风筝线、风筝印刷等企业发展，同时充分带动了竹编、印刷、物流、包装、特色餐饮等相关产业同步发展。风筝年销售额20多亿元，产品远销50多个国家和地区。潍坊通过风筝与世界对话，推进文旅融合，增进国际友谊，让更多人看到了“风筝之都”的精神风貌。

With annual sales of more than 2 billion yuan, Weifang’s kite products are exported to more than 50 countries and regions.
